David learned to make things out of scrap materials in his father's workshop; he says it was a fun time.

His father was an engineer by trade and a consummate hobbyist who freely supported his natural creative inclinations. At an early age, he provided him with the tools and materials necessary to explore and develop what his father called "creative ingenuity".

David forgot about the joy he experienced building stuff with his father and re-started doing what he enjoyed... with the subject of bicycles. He saw so many bikes being tossed away... looked at their potential as "art supplies" and started recycling and transforming bicycles. Custom Bike Art is the central focus of his work. He enjoys the creative challenge of building bike furnishings and abstract art out of the myriad of bicycles, bike parts and other things he collects.
